Ummm it's already almost June!

So, I really got behind on my updates so these will be fast and furious and full of pictures. If you see something that looks really interesting email me and I can tell you all about it! So...let's pick up where we left off.

MARCH
My last post mentioned something about the Running of the Green Lucky 7k
Well we did it! Check it our photos on the link.

It was a great time with great friends despite the fact that it started snowing right after we crossed the finish line.

The day before we went to the St. Patty's Day parade downtown
looks like the kids had lots of fun!

It also seemed like we've been at lots of birthday parties the last few months.
Here is a shot of Avery and her friends at the rec center for a birthday bash.

One of Avery's best friends though Lauren who is pictured in the middle moved away shortly after this picture. Luckily for Avery though she is only going to be in Arkansas so they will continue to keep in touch. I know though that she misses her and can't wait to see her again!

For spring break we went to see grandma and grandpappy in El Paso and can you believe the only shot I have of the trip was a spring time El Paso staple.
The poppies!

Running of the Green-who me????

I am feeling a bit in the March spirit and so I posted some Irish music and Irish bands for your enjoyment. This month we are going to be really busy with the kids. Avery and Blake are taking swimming lessons again and Zach is playing soccer.
So in between juggling those practices I am also getting ready to run in the Runnin' of the Green! Lucky 7K-Denver's Classic Irish Jog this year.
I know-this sounds crazy-since I don't really run! This will be my first race but as much as I am dreading it I am looking forward to running with some great gals! Erin, Stephanie and Katie(she will be cheering us on since she sprained her ankle!) Excited and nervous for it and can't believe it is almost here. Guess I should be running instead of sitting at my computer updating my blog! Happy St. Pattie's Day! I promise to post pics when we complete the run!

For Sale!

As I mentioned last month-we are moving back to Texas!

We finally finished all that we needed to in order to get the house ready to be put on the market. We have had a decent amount of interest and already 2 offers in the first 2 weeks-however neither of them was good. We have plenty of time though and are just enjoying the remainder of our time here now matter how long it is going to be.

Our realtor Brooke has done a fine job with our flyers and our virtual tour-Check out the tour

Now we just wait for those perfect buyers!

Happy 3rd Birthday!

Look who is already 3 years old. As Blake would say-I am big now-I am 3! For his birthday this year-we went all out! After all this was his first party with his own friends! Since he loves cowboys and horses we had some ponies over at the house for all the kids to ride. He even got to have his Granny, (Andrew's mom) and my parents-his Grandma and Grandpappy at the party along with about 20 kids! He had a great time and I think all of the other kids did too! Although if you ask him what the best part about his party was his answer is "the cake".
Time sure does fly-it seems like just the other day that I was pregnant with him. Love you Blakester!

New Year-New News!

We started off the new year with lots of excitement. Well not literally-the kids, Andrew's dad who was visiting and both of us were all sleeping soundly when the clock stuck 12! Otherwise we seem to be starting 2010 off right!

Andrew's dad came in town to visit for the New Year which was a great treat. The kids enjoyed having him and his dogs Hank and Nick around. Hopefully that won't be the last that they saw of the dogs-they were so excited and followed them around constantly which was a big change for them.

Andrew received a promotion with his company Learfield Sports. With this promotion we will be relocating from Colorado back to Dallas, Texas. We are excited about this new and exciting change and very soon our house will be up on the market! We will relocate once our house has sold and as of now we feel confident about that! Zachary is lukewarm on the idea of moving-he will obviously miss his friends but we have encouraged him to enjoy the time we have now and to remember that since Andrew will be traveling to Colorado still-he can come with him and visit his buddies. Avery and Blake on the other hand are luckily so young that all they can think of is having a pool and are constantly asking if we are going to get our Texas house today! I hope that they are this excited when the actual moving day comes!

January has also brought on busy schedules for all of us. Getting the house ready to sell has been consuming most of my time over the last month. Zach is busy playing golf 1 day a week-indoors thankfully as it is still January! Avery took some swim lessons and is busy with friends. Blake is also in swimming lessons-we told the kids that when we move to Texas we wanted to have a pool at our house so they had to practice swimming until then.

So January has come and gone but I will be trying once again to stay more current to document the last of our time here in Colorado-so it is time to bring on February!

Merry Christmas

I am already getting behind on my updates this year! To finish up the end of last year I had a couple more photos.
We had lots of Santa sightings this year.
Everytime Avery and Blake saw anyone who looked like Santa they weren't afraid to ask-Are you Santa? We explained that sometimes Santa went undercover so that he could watch and see if kids are behaving.
This Santa came around the neighborhood on a firetruck and each one of the kids came running out to see and get a photo!
On Christmas Eve-the kids got to open 1 gift-PJ's for all!
Another year-Another Christmas Eve with my favorite guy!
Christmas Morning-Santa came after all! We were so blessed!

Avery's Christmas program

Avery had her annual Christmas program at school. They sangs songs and recited verses. You could tell they were all excited about the upcoming holidays! Here is Avery with her girlfriends - Avery, Lauren, Fiona and Sophia!

My Book Club

Kristi and Carol
Stephanie & Linda

Heather, Erin & Katie

Megan & Kristin

This September I started another book club! We have a great group of new gals who really seem to enjoy getting together and sharing their thoughts. Here we are at our Christmas party at The Med in Boulder. I feel so blessed to be apart of such a neat group of ladies. The only one we were missing in the photos was Amy who snuck out before the cameras came out! It was fun!

Rodeo Time

It's that time of year again-Las Vegas-National Finals Rodeo!
We returned to Vegas again the first week of December to have some fun at the rodeo. Lance & Meghan joined us and of course it was a blast!

Hawaiian vacation

We got the opportunity to return to Hawaii again this November a year and a half after our last trip. This time we took Zach with us for a trip for just the 3 of us! We spent a day in Honolulu, a day on the Big Island, and 8 days in Maui. It was wonderful-Zach went surfing and got up the first time, we snorkled, and visited many sights. We just love that place and can't wait until we can go again!

Family ties

The main reason that November was so important was that it was the last time the entire family would be together for a while. While we were there-Josiah got promoted to 1LT and I got to pin him for his ceremony. I felt so honored and proud to be apart of that day. It was pretty emotional and I wasn't quite prepared for the flood of emotions that I would encounter over the course of the week. My youngest brother Josiah was getting ready to deploy to Iraq for the next 12 months. He is tank platoon leader. We were able to get some family photos taken and these are just a few of my favorite. There were many a tears shed by me but I couldn't be more proud. Isaiah is in Korea for another 4 months but after that he is supposed to be stationed back home in Ft. Bliss until his next move which is to be determined. It was so nice to be with all of my family-I really do love them all!

Sibling love!

Family ties

November was a big month for the Barrett Family. With both of my brothers in the army-Josiah returned from Ft. Benning, Georgia and Isaiah in town from South Korea we were able to spend some time with each other while I visited El Paso. I was able to spend some quality time with the both which was very special. Here we were at the beginning of the night for some serious cocktails and sibling bonding. Below the end of the night in what I think is a terrific picture!
