This weekend we had Avery's godfather in town staying with us. We chose our good friends Kevin & Dawn Farlow to be Avery's godparents. Since Andrew & Kevin work for the same company Kevin was in town for some company meetings and he got to meet little Avery. This is a picture that I snapped before they left for work today.

Happy Presidents Day! Monday was relaxation for all since there was no work or school. Once we managed to get going and get out of the house we went to the Aquarium downtown. There went my poker winnings, but what a nice treat. Avery has a few fish toys so I think she enjoyed looking at the real fish swimming. I caught her following the fish with her eyes. She was watching pretty intently. Zach loved it and thought that all the sharks were pretty cool. I forgot my new camera (Vday gift from andrew), but took pictures with my phone. Unfortunately the quality wasn't that great. They fed stingrays and had stinky hands the rest of the day. Overall it was a great family day and we loved spending all day with Dad!!!

One other topic of interest...Avery is getting another tooth. That's two for her now and she turns 7 months this coming week!

Another ski day for the boys this Presidents Day weekend. We left the frigid temperatures of Erie, it was -11 when we left the house, and Saturday morning we drove up to Copper mountain so that Zach, Andrew and other friends could ski. Zach got in another day at ski school and this time he even managed a hockey stop! He was very proud of himself! Meanwhile Andrew was skiing with friends from work, Lance & Meghan, Paul, and Jim. They had a bit of a late start but they still managed to have a good time. Once Zach was done with ski school we headed back home so that Andrew could attend a Buffs game. We rounded out the holiday weekend with dinner with friends and a friendly poker game at the house on Sunday night. The house won so that was good because we were able to break even.

Here is another shot of the house this morning...It is hard to tell in this picture that there is that much snow!

After we picked up Zach from school we headed back outside to enjoy the snow. I took the kids on a miniture sled ride on the driveway and then through the front yard. Still no smiling from Avery but Zach seemed to be enjoying himself. Later on, I shoveled the driveway. That is the first time I have ever done anything like that....that was probably the last time too! That was a lot of work. I will have a new appreciation for Andrew when he clears the snow. Looks like he will have his chance sooner than later, we are expecting another 3 inches tomorrow night!

Another snowy day in Colorado today. We had a good snow last night and ended up with about 5 inches on the ground. What better way to celebrate than to take the kids out and snap a couple of pictures. I got Avery all bundled up in her little snowsuit and took a couple of photos in the early afternoon. It was still pretty cold out, sunny but probably only about 20 degrees. She never really smiled for any of the pictures but at least she isn't crying in this one.

Avery has begun sitting very well. Well, at least sitting for a while before she falls over. Here she is playing this morning before her nap.

Superbowl Sunday started out very leisurely as you can tell. Zach and Avery love to play and snuggle on the bed. He is so patient with her and he can always manage to make her laugh. Then just the other day Andrew & I felt something new...Avery is cutting her first tooth. You can't see it yet but if you look inside her mouth you can see where the gum has split and it is quite sharp. We are so excited. It is hard to believe how fast they are growing.
